Talk on Japanese film scheduled

The public is invited to hear a visiting scholar at the East-West Center on O`ahu give a talk on the Japanese film industry on Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m. in the University of Hawaii at Hilo UCB 111. There is no admission charge.

Professor Earl Jackson will give a presentation on “Love Letters After All: Optimism in Contemporary Japanese Film.” Jackson, currently on leave from the University of California at Santa Cruz where he is an associate professor of literature, received his doctorate in comparative literature at Princeton University.

The talk is sponsored by the UH Hilo Humanities Division and the Japanese Studies program.
