UH Hilo has the qualities which provide for the perfect studying environment for international students: friendly, safe, diversed, natural resources for quality learning, and family-like atmosphere, which we often refer to as the "Ohana."
With over 40 clubs and associations on campus, in addition to the other activities organized by our housing dept, international students are able to make life-long friends while acquiring knowledge and skills for life after college.
With more than 30 majors to choose from, students are able to graduate with double majors or a major and a minor in different programs. The most popular majors amongst international students are: Business Administration, Marine Science, Political Science, Psychology, Communication, and Computer Science.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
The United States Government and the State of Hawaii do not make financial aid available to F-1 international students. There are limited University of Hawaii at Hilo institutional aid funds available to international students. Please email the Financial Aid Office for more information or visit the Scholarship Information page.
