Mission

The Student Life Office enhances the educational experience of students by helping them make connections through New and Transfer Student Orientation and community service. Through diverse orientation programming, new and transfer students are welcomed to engage in their new educational setting as they begin their college career. Students are also given the opportunity to perform community service as a student leader volunteer, Federal Work Study recipient, or class participant in a variety of Service-Learning courses.

Services provided

  • Orientation for new and transfer students
  • Service-Learning (earn academic credit for performing community service)
  • Community service events (Make a Difference Day/Good Neighbor Day)
  • America Reads & America Counts (earn Federal Work Study by tutoring children in reading and math)
  • Ameri-Corps (receive a Federal Education voucher by performing community service) auxiliary aids and services for students with disabilities
  • Assistance in securing admission and financial aid for graduate and professional
